The Public Relations Committee of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Japan (PMAJ) has been implementing a communication plan every year to deepen the public's understanding of the pharmaceutical industry. This plan aims to provide information on new drugs and the pharmaceutical industry from a variety of perspectives through the development of various publicity measures, and to familiarize the public with the social value of new drugs, namely, their contribution to extending healthy life expectancy.
The communication plan for fiscal 2021 is based on the renewal of the website of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Japan (PMAJ) in September 2021 and the start of information dissemination through social networking services (SNS), in response to the further progress of digitization of communication in the Corona Disaster. Based on the renewal of the Pharmaceutical Cooperative's website in September 2021 and the start of information dissemination through SNS, the project will develop three different publicity measures utilizing digital tools, SNS, and events combining real and online activities.

With the participation of employees from pharmaceutical association member companies, participants were introduced to the day-to-day operations of three job categories in the pharmaceutical industry: development jobs, patient advocacy, and market access and health outcomes research. In addition, participants were divided into small groups for a free talk session, which allowed them to become more familiar with the pharmaceutical industry through interaction with employees.
The final stage was held on March 18, where participants were divided into groups to compile and present presentations based on the results they had learned throughout the entire program, and awards for excellence were presented. Dr. Yutaka Morita, a physician, also makes an appearance as an animated character in the video, and he and Aoi interact with each other humorously as they delve deeper into the themes of each episode, creating an approachable structure.
There are eight disease themes, and a doctor specializing in each theme discusses the world before and after the advent of new drugs. All eight videos were released on the Pharmaceutical Cooperative Association YouTube channel by early March 2022.
