On May 20, 2021, the "JPMA Press Conference" was held at Hotel Metropolitan Edmont (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo). At the press conference, JPMA President Yasushi Okada, who was newly elected at the 260th JPMA Assembly held on the same day, expressed his belief in the JPMA and discussed the severe challenges facing the industry and the initiatives that the JPMA will focus on in the future, marking a fresh start for the organization under new JPMA President Okada. Although the press conference was webcast, it was attended by 36 members of the media, who engaged in a lively Q&A session, showing a high level of interest in the future of the pharmaceutical industry.
