Public Affairs Committee
Basic Policy
Amidst the drastically changing social and policy environment surrounding the JPMA's Vision for 2035, the JPMA's Public Affairs Committee will focus on communicating the role of the pharmaceutical industry in society and its policy approach, along with facts and background, in an easy-to-understand manner in order to support the realization of JPMA's Vision for 2035.
At the same time, the committee will work to strengthen information dissemination processes and channels, with a view to building a foundation of human resources and understanding for the future.
In order to promote collaboration and co-creation across committees in these activities, the optimal organization of the Public Affairs Committee will also be discussed.
Furthermore, in anticipation of JPMA's incorporation as a general incorporated association, the committee will contribute to improving the transparency and credibility of JPMA in Japan and abroad from the perspectives of public relations and information disclosure.
Priority Issues
(1) Educational activities to improve public understanding of the industry and to support sustainable growth of the industry

Communicate the social role and importance of the pharmaceutical industry to the public, including the younger generation, in an easy-to-understand manner as an industry that is deeply related to the lives of each and every one of us.

Conduct ongoing educational activities to secure and develop the future decision makers and human resources who will support the industry.
(2) Enhancement of external information dissemination processes and channels (including infrastructure development in preparation for incorporation as a general incorporated association)

Review the structure and navigation of MISHOP's website and on-demand media to create a foundation for easy access to information for everyone.

In addition to strengthening existing channels such as SNS and newsletters, consider using new channels such as LinkedIn with a view to enhancing overseas dissemination.

In conjunction with the incorporation of the association as a general incorporated association, the process for information disclosure will be developed, and a public relations plan will be formulated and implemented to explain the association to society and the industry, strengthen the brand, and change the name of the association.
(3) Spread understanding of Industrial Vision 2035 and establish a culture of co-creation within the association

As a hub for editing and connecting professional information into a form that reaches society, disseminate the contents and background of Industrial Vision 2035 and policy recommendations in an easy-to-understand manner within the association with an awareness of the public perspective.

Enhance mutual understanding and a sense of unity within the association, and foster a culture in which cross-committee collaboration and co-creation can be demonstrated in an autonomous manner.
Initiatives for Priority Issues
In order to address the priority issues as effectively and to the maximum extent possible, the current structure consisting of the Public Affairs Committee Assembly, the Policy PR Study Committee, the Media Relations Subcommittee, the On-demand Media Promotion Subcommittee, and the Secretariat will be used as the basic structure, while considering the division of roles and the nature of collaboration with a view to building a more effective organizational structure, with the following priority measures as the main focus The following priority measures will be implemented. 1.

Design "to whom, when, what, and how" to deliver, and promote ongoing public relations activities that lead to increased awareness of the pharmaceutical industry and improved health literacy.

Qualitative and quantitative research on the public's understanding of the industry through the design and implementation of consumer awareness surveys and the use of the results
2)Enlightenment activities through the media

Organize media forums (AMR, vaccines, healthy life expectancy, clinical trials, medical DX, etc.)

Providing opportunities for systematic input to the media through a press program

Through collaboration with the Pharmaceutical Industrial Policy Committee and other committees, utilize various media channels to disseminate content that leads to understanding of the industry (pure advertisements, article planning, program production, etc.)
3) Awareness-raising activities for young people

Elementary and junior high school students: Science Museum Kusurium, career education (Occupation Yearbook)

High school students: Utilization of Senden Kaigi Award-winning works, dissemination of Mynavi teaching materials

University students: Planning for young people (1-2 years), on-site classes (co-creation with other committees)
