The Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA) is pleased to announce that the results of the "16th Survey on Sei-katsu-sha Attitudes Toward Drugs and the Pharmaceutical Industry," conducted this year, are now available on the JPMA website.
The 16th Survey on Sei-katsu-sha Attitudes Toward Drugs and the Pharmaceutical Industry
According to the results of this year's survey, the level of trust in the pharmaceutical industry was 88%, indicating that the level of trust is as high as ever. In terms of the image of the pharmaceutical industry, positive responses such as "an industry that is highly necessary to society" and "an industry with strong technological capabilities" were among the top responses. In addition, the survey also showed a high level of opinions regarding new drug development, with respondents stating that "new drug development is necessary" and "socially meaningful," indicating that the pharmaceutical industry and its activities are highly valued and expected by consumers and patients.
In addition, a new question this year asked respondents about changes in their attitudes toward health, medicine, and medical care before and after the Corona Disaster. 39% of respondents answered "changed" or "changed somewhat," and 67% of them said that their health awareness had increased.
With new coronavirus infections still affecting social life around the world, the mission of the pharmaceutical industry is more recognized than ever. In order to meet the expectations of our stakeholders and continue to earn their strong trust even in a changing social climate, we will continue to promote JPMA's activities by making the most of the results of this survey.
