"JPMA Kusurium Lab 2025 Fall": A Fun Way to Learn About Medicine

The Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (Chairperson: Asuka Miyabashira; hereinafter “JPMA”) will hold “JPMA Kusurium Lab 2025 Fall,” a hands-on event where participants can learn about medicines in a fun way, on Sunday, September 14, 2025, andSeptember 15, 2025 (Monday, a national holiday), at the National Museum of Science and Technology in Kitanomaru Park, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo.
Since 2016, the JPMA has been cooperating as an exhibitor in the permanent exhibition room“The Medicine Room – Kusurium” at the National Museum of Science and Technology. In March 2025, it held the hands-on event “JPMA Kusurium Lab,” aimed at fostering children’s motivation to pursue careers as pharmaceutical researchers or in related fields in the future.As the event was very well-received—attracting approximately 6,000 visitors—we have decided to hold an additional session of “JPMA Kusurium Lab 2025 Fall” on September 14 and 15, during the fall holiday weekend.
For this “JPMA Kusurium Lab 2025 Fall,” we plan to offer the following activities, similar to the previous event held in March 2025.
Program for “JPMA Kusurium Laboratory 2025 Fall”

Experiment Shows:
・Discovering Medicines (Introducing one of the methods used to identify the active ingredients in medicines)
・Acids and Bases (Introducing simple experiments related to acids and bases and their roles in the body and medicines) -
Panel Exhibits:
・Creating New Medicines (A section where visitors can learn about the necessary steps in drug development through panels)
・The Invention of Medicines and the Science Behind Them (Achievements of historical figures) - How an Electron Microscope Works (in cooperation with Carl Zeiss K.K.)
- Drug Molecule Puzzle Experience (Assembling molecular models)
- Pharmaceutical Plant Board Game (A board game where you can play and learn about the process of making medicine)
- Workshop (A workshop using “chromatography,” the technique introduced in “Discovering Medicines”)

In addition, to commemorate this event, we are holding a campaign to invite 50 pairs (100 people) selected by lottery from followers of the JPMA’s official X account.

JPMA Official X Invitation Campaign
The JPMA Public Affairs Committee is holding the “Sendenkaigi Award,” organized by Sendenkaigi Co., Ltd. Junior High and High School Category,” and is running an invitation campaign using content operated by Mynavi Corporation university students , and an event at the National Museum of Science and Technology elementary school studentsat the National Museum of Science and Technology. Through these initiatives, we provide opportunit at the Science and Technology Museum—we are providing opportunities for all young people to become involved in the future of healthcare and research and development. As a key player in shaping the future of healthcare, we view young people as “co-creation partners” and will continue to promote information sharing and dialogue.
