Announcement of the Hands-On Event “JPMA Kusurium Lab”

　The Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (Chairman Hiroaki Ueno,hereinafter referred to as “JPMA”) will host the “JPMA Kusurium Laboratory,” a hands-on event where participants can learn about pharmaceutical researchers and various aspects of medicine, from Friday, March 21, 2025, through Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the National Museum of Science and Technology in Kitanomaru Park, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo.

　Since 2016, the JPMA has been collaborating with the National Museum of Science and Technology to operate the permanent exhibition “The Medicine Room – Kusurium.”This event, “JPMA Kusurium Lab,” taking place during spring break, is designed to inspire children to pursue careers as pharmaceutical researchers or in other drug-related fields. We plan to feature a variety of interactive exhibits—including panel displays introducing various aspects of medicine, hands-on games, model displays, and public experiment shows—to foster their interest.

[Highlights of This Event]

1. Popular Experiment Shows!!
　We will hold the live experiment shows that are popular in the permanent exhibition (held several times a day; limited capacity). This time, we will present two new experiment shows related to pharmaceutical research in a way that is easy for elementary school students to understand and experience.

2. Could You Create New Medicines in the Future?
　There’s a section where you can learn about the achievements of historical figures and the necessary steps for creating medicines through informational panels, as well as a board game that lets you play and learn about the process of making medicines. There are also displays featuring a model microscope from Carl Zeiss and an introduction to the microscopic world.

3. New exhibits are coming to the permanent exhibition hall, “Kus urium” !
　In conjunction with this event, new exhibits will be added to the permanent exhibition hall, “The Medicine Room – Kusurium,” starting Saturday, March 22.
　New features include “Micro Adventure: A Journey Through Medicine,” where visitors can learn about how medicines work through digital images and a vibrating stage, as well as a photo corner where visitors can try on lab coats and have their picture taken.
