Announcement Regarding the Release of an Awareness Video on the Use of Health and Medical Data

The Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (Chairman: Hiroaki Ueno; hereinafter “JPMA”) is pleased to announce that it has produced two videos aimed at clearly explaining the significance of utilizing health and medical data* and has made them available on the JPMA website.

* A general term referring to health data obtained through health checkups, long-term care, and daily activities, as well as medical data recorded at hospitals, clinics, and dispensing pharmacies.

The JPMA has established a Task Force for Promoting the Utilization of Medical Information Databases within its Drug Evaluation Committee. This task force works to raise awareness among the general public, with the goal of advancing the utilization of health and medical data not only within the pharmaceutical industry but across society as a whole, thereby helping to build a better society.

We have created two types of videos: a “Short Version” (45 seconds) that introduces the concept of health and medical data utilization, and a “Long Version” (3 minutes 27 seconds) that uses approachable animation to highlight the importance of health and medical data. We hope you will find these videos useful for various events, social media, websites, and other platforms.

Moving forward, we will utilize these videos and collaborate with stakeholders to further our efforts to raise awareness among the general public regarding the use of health and medical data.
