Once again, member companies will work together to conduct internal inspections to ensure thorough compliance with the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association Code.

Meeting Society's Expectations through Sincere Actions - Thinking in the Current Era

The Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Japan (PMAJ) Code stipulates that "the mission of PMAJ member companies is to contribute to the improvement of health and welfare of people in Japan and around the world through the development of innovative, highly useful, and safer pharmaceutical products. To this end, we must not only comply with laws and regulations, but also build a relationship of mutual trust with our stakeholders, including researchers, medical professionals, and patient groups, and meet the expectations of society through our sincere actions.

We must take seriously the serious problems related to the stable supply of pharmaceuticals stemming from the recent outbreak of inadequate manufacturing management, as well as the major environmental changes brought about by the global spread of the new coronavirus infection and the acceleration of digital transformation (DX), etc. As we enter a turning point of the times, we must rethink "What are society's expectations of pharmaceutical companies? In this time of transition, we need to rethink "what society expects from pharmaceutical companies" and act accordingly.

Each member company has decided to set specific items for proper corporate activities in each department and workplace and conduct thorough inspections in order to earn even greater trust from society.

In addition, we have created a "Month to Promote Understanding of the Code" awareness poster*1 that can be used to describe inspection items for FY2021, as well as a digital version of the poster (desktop wallpaper image)*2 that was well received in FY2020.

This year's poster, featuring a "flapping bird" motif, includes the names of all member companies as a sign of our united efforts as a pharmaceutical cooperative to meet the expectations of society.
