The Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Japan (PMAJ) has decided to continue its efforts to promote understanding of the PMAJ Code of Practice (hereinafter referred to as the PMAJ Code) in November of FY2020, and has set the theme for FY2020 as "Trust - What is required of you now? The theme for FY2020 is "Trust - What is expected of you now?" and member companies will once again work together to conduct internal inspections to ensure thorough compliance with the Pharmaceutical Association of Japan Code.

Trust - What is expected of you now?

In October 2019, the Guidelines for the Provision of Marketing Information on Prescription Drugs will be fully applied, and in December 2019, the revised Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Law will be promulgated, which requires pharmaceutical companies to further improve their legal compliance systems. Pharmaceutical companies need to take seriously the fact that their activities are being subjected to increasingly strict scrutiny.

In its Charter of Corporate Behavior, the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Japan (PMAJ) stipulates that one of the missions of pharmaceutical companies is to "communicate with healthcare professionals and patients in good faith to gain their satisfaction and trust.

The Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Japan (PMAJ) Code also states that "member companies are required to build relationships of mutual trust with researchers, medical professionals, patient groups, etc., based on appropriate industry-academia collaboration, and to strive to ensure that optimal medical care is provided in an ethical and patient-oriented manner.

As a life-related company, we have decided to conduct thorough inspections of the new Corona Disaster based on the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association Code, with each department and workplace setting its own specific items for proper corporate activities, in order to earn even greater trust from society.

In FY2020, we created a digital version of the poster (desktop wallpaper image)*2 as well as a "Month to Promote Understanding of the Code" awareness poster*1 in which inspection items can be described, The posters will be posted throughout the company and electronic media will also be used to help promote inspections.
