The JPMA has decided to continue its efforts to promote understanding of the JPMA Code of Practice (JPMA Code) in November of FY2020, under the theme "Trust - What is required of you now? The theme for FY2020 is "Trust - What is expected of you now?" and member companies will once again work together to conduct internal inspections to ensure thorough compliance with the JPMA Code.

Trust - What is expected of you now?

In October 2019, the Guidelines for the Provision of Marketing Information on Prescription Pharmaceuticals will be fully applied, and in December the same year, the revised Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Law will be promulgated, requiring pharmaceutical companies to further improve their legal compliance systems. Pharmaceutical companies need to take seriously the fact that their activities are being subjected to increasingly strict scrutiny.

In its Charter of Corporate Behavior, the JPMA stipulates that one of the missions of pharmaceutical companies is to "communicate with healthcare professionals and patients in good faith to gain their satisfaction and trust.

The JPMA Code also states that "member companies are required to build relationships of mutual trust with researchers, medical professionals, patient groups, etc., based on appropriate industry-academia collaboration, and strive to ensure that optimal medical care is provided in an ethical and patient-oriented manner.

As a life-related company, we have decided to conduct inspections to ensure that each department and workplace has established its own specific items for proper corporate activities based on the JPMA Code, in order to earn even greater trust from society for the new Corona Disaster.

In FY2020, we created a digital version of the poster (desktop wallpaper image)*2 as well as a "Month to Promote Understanding of the Code" awareness poster*1 in which inspection items can be described, The posters will be posted throughout the company and electronic media will also be used to help promote inspections.
