JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency)
The Japanese pharmaceutical industry is working with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), an affiliate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, to promote the "BOP Business Partnership" program, which encourages Japanese companies to participate in "BOP business" to solve the problems of the poor (BOP: Base of Pyramid) in developing countries, and to provide technical guidance to Japanese private companies to utilize their excellent products, technologies, and systems for the social and economic development of developing countries.
