Industry Policy Committee Pharmaceutical Association of Japan Media Forum (July 19, 2022) Aiming for Appropriate Use of Drugs" - To deliver reliable drug information to patients

In order to maximize the efficacy and minimize the risks of pharmaceuticals, active participation of patients in drug therapy is essential. The Council for the Appropriate Use of Drugs and the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Japan (PMAJ) are working with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare to raise awareness of polypharmacy, which is a particular problem among the elderly.　　
The Council also launched a new drug information provision platform for patients in April 2022. This media forum clarifies current issues and problems related to the proper use of pharmaceuticals and introduces these initiatives.
