Drug Evaluation Committee Results of Questionnaire on efforts toward Patient Public Involvement (PPI/E) activities (conducted February-March 2025)

Pharmacovigilance Subcommittee

June 2026

The Clinical Evaluation Subcommittee of the Drug Evaluation Committee has established a task force with the vision of "Drug Development Advancing Together with Patients" and has been continuously implementing activities related to PPI/E (Patient and Public Involvement/
Engagement) on an ongoing basis. As part of these efforts, a company survey on the status of PPI/E initiatives has been conducted over time since 2016.
Meanwhile, the Pharmacovigilance (PV) Subcommittee is also working to establish an ideal system for providing safety information from the perspective of patients and healthcare providers, with the vision of contributing to "patient safety and security" by delivering necessary information. In particular, one of the important roles of the PV Subcommittee is the creation of patient-oriented materials to promote the proper use of pharmaceuticals.
Against this background, the PV Subcommittee, in collaboration with the Clinical Evaluation Subcommittee, conducted a survey of PV Subcommittee member companies to ascertain the current status of efforts to create patient-oriented materials that incorporate the perspectives of patients and the public.
We hope that the results will be useful as a reference for educating the public about PPI/E at each company.
