Drug Evaluation Committee Do you know about the "drug use-results survey" conducted by pharmaceutical companies?

Pharmacovigilance Subcommittee

July 2025

We feel that it has become increasingly important to conduct educational activities on "use-results surveys" in light of the actual situation of obtaining consent at pharmaceutical companies in recent years, as well as changes in social concerns and circumstances regarding patients' right to know and ethics. Use-results surveys have been conducted for many years for the purpose of reexamination applications and, in recent years, as an additional drug safety surveillance activity in the RMP, and it is with the aforementioned background that we are publishing this leaflet.
We hope that this leaflet will contribute to the mutual understanding among patients, medical professionals, and pharmaceutical companies on the topic of drug use-results investigations, as well as to patient and public involvement (PPI), and we hope that this leaflet will be of assistance to the activities of each company in conducting drug use-results investigations.
