Aiming at the development of a system for drug risk management planning, the Team for Addressing Ongoing Issues of the PV Subcommittee of the Drug Evaluation Committee has so far published "RMP Training Slides for MRs" and "RMP Explanatory Slides by MRs (Slide Template for RMP Explanation for Medical Institutions)" in March, 1991.
In addition, the "RMP Explanatory Slides for MRs (Template for RMP Explanatory Slides for Medical Institutions)" published in March 1991, which MRs use to introduce their RMP products at medical institutions, has been replaced by the "Overview Version_RMP Explanatory Slides (Template for RMP Explanatory Slides for Medical Institutions)" to enable MRs to explain their products to medical professionals in a shorter time frame. The "Summary Version_RMP Explanatory Slide (RMP Explanatory Slide Template for Medical Institutions)" has been newly created to explain the RMP to healthcare professionals in a shorter time.
About 10 years have passed since the implementation of the system of drug risk management plans (RMPs) in Japan, and surveys have shown that pharmacists' recognition and use of RMPs have been increasing. On the other hand, there are some cases where MRs are promoting drugs with little regard for side effects and safety.
We have also updated some of the information in the "RMP Training Slides for MRs" to help them understand how important it is to provide information based on RMPs to healthcare professionals. We hope that the effective use of these slides by pharmaceutical companies will further promote the provision of RMP-based information by MRs to healthcare professionals.
