Drug Evaluation Committee Introduction of Application Examples of Open Source Software

In the report of the open source software (OSS) utilization status questionnaire conducted by Task Force 5 of the Data Science Subcommittee 2022 of the Committee on Drug Evaluation of the Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA), the answer to the question "What do you expect from the JPMA Task Force in the future regarding the use of open source software such as R/Python? The second most common response to the question "Please tell us what you expect from the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association Task Force in the future regarding the use of open source software (OSS) such as R/Python" was the introduction of OSS use cases, followed by its use in approval applications.
Therefore, this task force collected examples of use of Python and R at companies belonging to task force members, and compiled explanations of the program processing and program execution environment to realize these examples as "Introduction to Open Source Software Use Cases".
We hope this document will help promote the use of open source software.
