Publication of "The Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Japan Code of Practice (May 2025 Revision)


We are pleased to announce that we have published a book on the "Pharmaceutical Cooperative Code of Practice (hereafter referred to as the "Pharmaceutical Cooperative Code")" revised in May 2025.

The Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Japan (PMAJ) Code of Practice is a voluntary industry code of practice established in January 2013 (and implemented from April 2013), which evolved from the Ethical Drugs Promotion Code established in 1993. It covers all the various corporate activities conducted by executives and employees of member companies for researchers, medical professionals, patient groups, wholesalers, and others.

The Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Japan (PMAJ) Code is a voluntary industry code established in January 2013 (and implemented from April 2013) that evolved from the Promotion Code established in 1993. The code covers all corporate activities conducted by executives and employees of member companies for researchers, medical professionals, patient groups, wholesalers, and others.

The May 2025 revision consists of four parts: revision of the definition of "promotion," changes to the content of the "Code of Ethical Drug Promotion," arrangement of duplicate entries in the "Code of Practice" and "Code of Ethical Drug Promotion," and arrangement of entries and publication in the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association Notification and IFPMA Guidance. The overall structure is as follows: "I-1. Code of Practice," "I-2. Ethical Drugs Promotion Code," "II-1. In addition, various rules, regulations, guidelines, documents from the chairman, and related documents are also included.
