Proposals for the development of a promotion system for vaccines based on the basic strategy for the prevention of infectious diseases, from research and development to practical application and routine vaccination (excluding those related to the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Law)
Biopharmaceutical Committee The Vaccine Working Committee has been promoting regular dialogue on overall vaccine administration between four organizations related to vaccine production and sales (Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Japan, Japan Vaccine Industry Association, Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), and European Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (EFPIA): hereinafter referred to as the "four vaccine organizations") and the Health Bureau of the MHLW. The MHLW Health Bureau has been in regular dialogue with the four vaccine organizations. In the course of these dialogues, the four vaccine organizations requested the following: "Improvement of predictability of routine vaccination," "Handling of vaccines with high development priority," "Establishment of industry-government-academia collaboration council," "Improvement of database and monitoring system," and "Improvement of information sharing, awareness-raising, and education. This is the government's basic strategy for the prevention of infectious diseases. This is a request for support measures for vaccine development based on the government's basic strategy for the prevention of infectious diseases, and we hope it will help those working on vaccine development to deepen their understanding.
