Transparency Guideline for the Relation between Corporate Activities and Medical Institutions Q12. Are there any cases in which the payment of money by pharmaceutical companies to healthcare professionals may distort the activities or judgment of healthcare professionals?

Answer

In order to prevent such distortion, we have established a voluntary standard, the "Transparency Guideline," which discloses the expenses paid by pharmaceutical companies to healthcare providers.

Although the payment of money by pharmaceutical companies to medical institutions should not distort the activities and judgment of medical professionals, it is undeniable that there may be concerns that such payments may have some influence on the judgment of medical professionals. It is precisely because of such concerns that we strive to ensure transparency, fairness, and neutrality by disclosing the state of conflicts of interest between pharmaceutical companies and medical professionals through information disclosure in accordance with the Transparency Guideline.
