Drugs that reduce the acidity of stomach acid Drugs that reduce the acidity of stomach acid Drugs that reduce the acidity of stomach acid

Here is a video showing an experiment to understand the mechanism of drugs. Let's write a report on the expected results of the experiment and what you learned from watching the video.

 How does the drug work?
How does the drug work?

If you burp without eating or have a stomach ache, it may be because your stomach produces more acid ( stomach acid) than usual and the acidity of gastric juice has become stronger than usual. In such cases, there are medicines that use chemical reactions to reduce the acidity of gastric juice and relieve heartburn and pain.

Drugs are used to cure diseases and injuries. If not used correctly, they can be harmful to the body, so don't imitate the experiments.

The pH test paper has turned from red to green.

When baking soda, which is a neutralizer of stomach acid, was added to an aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid, which is used to simulate gastric juice, and placed on a pH test paper, the color of the solution changed. This is an alkaline drug that counteracts the acidity of stomach acid, causing a chemical reaction that makes the gastric juice closer to neutral. The reason for this is that the chemical reaction produces carbon dioxide gas (CO2), but you do not feel this reaction yourself. However, in the body, this reaction causes the stomach to become neutral, which relieves heartburn and stomach pain.
