JPMA Aging Group and Japan Health Policy Institute (HGPI) Joint Symposium Report on "Health Challenges Associated with Aging, Dementia and Cancer: Early Approaches to Extending Healthy Life Expectancy Theme: Toward disease preparedness, early detection, consultation with specialists, and a society where people can live together
On September 8, 2023, the JPMA Aging Group and the Health Policy Institute of Japan (HGPI) held a joint symposium at the Nihonbashi Life Science Hub (Chuo-ku, Tokyo). This event also served as a follow-up to the " Pharmaceutical Industry Recommendations for the G7 Hiroshima Summit Health Agenda " jointly issued by JPMA and IFPMA in November 2022 in preparation for the "G7 Hiroshima Sum mit/Nagasaki Health Ministers' Meeting", focusing on dementia and cancer, which are considered to be common among the elderly. The event focused on dementia and cancer, both of which are common among the elderly. Approximately 150 people from the media and the general public attended the event. We hope that the keynote speeches, panel discussion, and this report will help to raise awareness and encourage preparedness for extending healthy life expectancy in Japan.
