Randomized Clinical Trials

In a randomized clinical trial, for example, drug A is randomly assigned to 500 of 1,000 patients with a certain disease, and drug B is randomly assigned to the remaining 500 patients, and the effects of drugs A and B are compared. Random assignment of drugs allows for a fair comparison of effects between groups of drugs A and B, balancing patient characteristics (e.g., age, gender, severity of illness, comorbidities) that affect the effects of the drugs.
